Pantoum

I eat my words as a poem
Whose alternating stanzas are recycled
Until I end up with my tail in my mouth
In an attempt to bring sense to the nonsense of my form,

Whose alternating stanzas are recycled,
Repeated for the shallow purpose of containing form
In an attempt to bring sense to the nonsense of my form.
I do not understand–though I am trying–why I am
What I am.

They like me for what I give their art and not for what I am,
Which without a doubt will not be understood.
What I am:
A repetition establishing a message,

Which without a doubt will not be understood.
I eat my words as a poem,
A repetition establishing a message
Until I end up with my tail in my mouth.
